Why We Need a Better Way of Talking About Equal PayI’ve grown to dislike the term ‘equal pay’. Without doubt women deserve to be paid the same as men for the same job role and performance but it is the argument that stands against them. ‘Equal pay’ has an underlying tone of ‘it’s not fair’ which is a weak position from which to negotiate. I would argue that women should instead centre the discussion on what they're objectively worth, irrespective of gender.
Why Employers Should Hire Women With ChildrenRose & Willard believes and supports flexible working for women. Our studio manager, who started as an intern after a career change, works hours that accommodate her family commitments. Her role is supplemented by a junior who benefits from taking on more responsibility. We believe hiring women with children adds value to companies and the economy.
Continuing the Dialogue on Positive Portrayals of Women in AdvertisingThe reaction to our Confidence campaign was mixed. While we appreciate that it may have been perhaps too forward for some, reneging on our commitment to feature a more honest representation of women seems to us like taking a step backward. Thus, we decided to maintain diversity in our models but to present their body language in a more subtly positive way.
